DARPA Detect It with Gene Editing Technologies (DIGET) Proposers Day
 
 

The Biological Technologies Office (BTO) of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is hosting a Proposers Day for the potential proposer community in support of a planned Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the DIGET (Detect It with Gene Editing Technologies) Program. The Proposers Day will be held on December 11, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, 265 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA  30303. Advance registration is required for participation. Note, all times listed in this announcement and on the registration website are Eastern Time.

The Proposers Day objectives are:

  • Introduce the DIGET program vision and goals;
  • To explain the mechanics of a DARPA program in general and the objectives and milestones of this is program in particular; and
  • To encourage and promote teaming arrangements among organizations that have the relevant expertise, research, facilities and capabilities for executing research and development responsive to the DIGET program goals.

Registration Information

The DARPA DIGET Proposers Day will be held on December 11, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. Agenda details can be found here. Note, all times listed in this announcement and on the registration website are Eastern Time.

Registration opens: As of publication of this announcement.

Registration closes: December 2, 2019 at 12:00 PM or when capacity is reached, whichever comes first.

Advance registration is required for attending the Proposers Day. Interested parties must register through this website by clicking on the "New Registration" button. There is a required $25.00 registration fee for all in-person attendees.

Interested parties are encouraged to coordinate attendance internally within their organizations prior to registration. Physical attendance is limited to no more than two representatives per division/department. Due to conference facility space limitations, attendance will be limited to the first 150 registrants.

Registrants in excess of the maximum capacity limitations of 150 will be added to the waitlist. If slots remain open after registration closes or become available due to cancellations, the slots will be filled on a first come, first-served basis from the waitlist.

Eligibility

Attendance is open to individuals who are U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents, and Foreign Nationals. Upon entry to the physical meeting, all attendees will be required to present valid, Government-issued photo identification.

Participation

Interested attendees are invited to present a summary of their interest and capabilities during a 3-minute "lightning" talk (see Attachment 1 for template) at the Proposers Day. Presentations consisting of multiple slides will not be granted a time slot. Those interested may submit  a lightning talk. You must register for these on the registration page.

Lightning talk submissions will be accepted on a first-come basis until time constraints (lightning talks) are reached.

Interested parties are also invited to submit a one-page profile describing technical competencies and facility capabilities as it relates to the program and desired technical competencies in other potential teammates (Attachment 2).

All profiles and presentations must be emailed to DARPA-SN-20-12@darpa.mil no later than 12:00 PM EDT on December 2, 2019.  

After the meeting has concluded, a consolidated list of profiles (not presentations) will be sent via email to all registered attendees who submitted a valid profile (following the format provided and not exceeding the single page limit). Specific content, communications, networking, and team formation are the sole responsibility of the participants. Neither DARPA nor the Department of Defense (DoD) endorses the information and organizations contained in the consolidated teaming profile document, nor does DARPA or DoD exercise any responsibility for improper dissemination of the teaming profiles.

Private sidebar meetings with the DARPA government team and potential proposers teams can be scheduled beforehand on the registration website.
